Three outstanding tourism experiences welcomed to the Canadian Signature Experiences collection

Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel

Destination Canada today announced the addition of three exciting new members to the Canadian Signature Experiences collection from across Canada.

The Canadian Signature Experiences is a curated collection of over 200 unforgettable travel experiences offered by Canadians who are passionate to share their extraordinary part of the country with international visitors.

The three new experiences are:

  1. Guided Tour of the historic 1920s village Val-Jalbert
The Historic Village of Val-Jalbert offers visitors an insight into life in 1920s Quebec, with guided tours of a genuine company town complete with forty or so original period buildings, including the convent-school, general store and pulp mill.

  2. Kasba Lake Adventure
Visitors to Kasba Lake Lodge, in Canada’s remote Northwest Territories, can experience an outstanding 5-day fly-fishing adventure on the World Heritage Kazan River. Fish for lake trout and arctic grayling, feast on fresh caught fish, and keep the camera poised for grizzlies, moose, wolves and incredible bird life.

  3. Eat the Castle
Fairmont Banff Springs, Alberta’s very own historic castle, offers an unforgettable culinary excursion at four Banff restaurants, bringing the stories of the Castle to life. In partnership with Alberta Food Tours, guests are invited to eat like royalty during an intimate, hands-on dining experience.

“From historic communities to innovative gastronomy and remote outdoor expeditions, our newest Canadian Signature Experiences reflect the distinct range of adventures available from coast to coast to coast. These once-in-a-lifetime opportunities can only be found in Canada, and they invite tourists to engage with our people, places and cultures.” says the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie. “The vital role that tourism plays in sustaining a vibrant economy in every community across Canada cannot be underestimated.”

Canada’s 13 provincial and territorial tourism marketing organisations work closely with Destination Canada to ensure the most extraordinary experiences are included in the list of Canadian Signature Experiences, revealing the country’s welcoming culture, unique wilderness and urban adventures.

“The role of tourism in the Canadian economy is incredibly important and continues to grow year-on-year, generating jobs in cities and regions,” says  David F. Goldstein, Destination Canada’s President and CEO. “Our curated list of Canadian Signature Experiences highlights experiences and encounters that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. These exceptional and authentic activities never fail to surprise and enthrall international visitors to Canada.”
