Who We Are

Destination Canada is the marketing and research organization responsible for producing regular data, market intelligence and industry analysis to help businesses market to, historically, international travellers so we can grow Canada’s tourism sector and the visitor economy. We’ve pivoted our focus to marketing domestic travel to Canadians to make sure we can continue to support Canada’s tourism sector. 

Our mission continues to unite and empower Canada’s tourism leaders through compelling research, strategy and storytelling to drive the visitor economy.

Destination Canada is a Crown corporation wholly owned by the Government of Canada. Our campaigns are targeted to reflect individual market conditions and traveller interests. In collaboration with our tourism industry partners, we promote Canada as a premier four-season tourism destination.

Masha Walden
Marsha Walden President and CEO LinkedIn

Marsha’s career spans leadership roles in strategy and organizational renewal, marketing and communications, corporate social responsibility, operations management, and business innovation. She joins Destination Canada from Destination British Columbia where she served as the President and CEO since 2013.

Ben Cowan-Dewar

Ben is the owner of Cabot Links golf course, and a tourism entrepreneur. A past Chair of the Board for Nova Scotia Tourism, he is a member of the Board of The Golf Canada Foundation and the Young Presidents Organization.
