Destination Canada and WestJet announce three year global partnership

Destination Canada and WestJet today announced a global partnership that will help market Canada around the world and bring more travellers to Canada.

“I’ve had the privilege to meet many amazing tourism business owners from coast to coast to coast. These hard-working Canadians shape our thriving tourism industry and help make us a top destination in the world” said the Honourable Bardish Chagger, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister of Small Business and Tourism. “Partnerships like the one announced today, will help welcome even more travellers to Canada, so they can enjoy the world-class tourism experiences our country offers.”

Almost 20 million travellers came to Canada last year,” said David Goldstein, Destination Canada’s President and CEO. “We’re excited to work with WestJet to build on this success and expand our joint marketing efforts.”

“WestJet is strategically expanding its network to more international destinations,” said Gregg Saretsky, WestJet President and CEO. “We look forward to working with Destination Canada to bring more travellers to visit our great country on Canada’s low fare leader.”

Through this partnership, Destination Canada and WestJet will align marketing strategies in shared international markets. This will combine WestJet’s continuing expansion of air access with Destination Canada’s marketing efforts, to grow Canada’s tourism industry.
