GoMedia 2019 leads the world's travel media to Canada

GoMedia 2019 - Ottawa

Over the course of two days, more than 3,800 face-to-face meetings were held between media and tourism partners, giving them a taste of Canada’s people and places and leaving a lasting mark on their hearts.

Destination Canada’s annual media marketplace, GoMedia Canada was a resounding success, with over 130 global media and 137 Canadian tourism organizations coming together from 11 – 15 August in the host city of Ottawa.

Now in its 16th year, GoMedia Canada provides a valuable opportunity for passionate members of the Canadian tourism industry to share remarkable Canadian experiences, destinations and content with carefully selected media, generating thousands of stories that inspire the world to love Canada as much as we do.

Over the course of two days, more than 3,800 face-to-face meetings were held between media and tourism partners, giving them a taste of Canada’s people and places and leaving a lasting mark on their hearts.

Ottawa Tourism did an outstanding job welcoming and facilitating media to have their own authentically Canadian experience and truly get to know our diverse people,” says David Goldstein, President and CEO of Destination Canada.

“Once again, GoMedia has proven to be a phenomenal opportunity for our tourism organisations to connect with media who, in turn, will reach hundreds of millions of people globally with their compelling stories about Canada.”

Our evolved brand, Canada. For Glowing Hearts, was front and center throughout GoMedia Canada, including during Destination Canada’s luncheon where delegates were encouraged to connect on a deeper level as we shared stories like that of Maria Rasouli, an Ottawan and tourism operator who found joy and freedom in Canada’s national capital region.

This powerful forum, featuring dynamic networking events and familiarisation tours across Canada, is globally regarded as the pre-eminent event ahead of other international media marketplaces.

Highlights of this year’s conference included a vintage summer garden party at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier and an opening reception at Lansdowne Park hosted by Ottawa Tourism. GoMedia attendees were also treated to programming hosted by Destination Greater Victoria, Marriott International, Group Germain, and Travel Nunavut. The spectacular closing reception hosted by Tourisme Outaouais, was held at the Canadian Museum of History and culminated with the spectacular Sound of Light firework display.

We look forward to welcoming the world’s leading travel media to Victoria, British Columbia for GoMedia Canada 2020, September 9-13, 2020.
