Over 369,000 German travellers visited Canada in 2016, up 12% over 2015.

According to Destination Canada’s research, Canada is high up on Germans' consideration list for long haul destinations, currently ranking third (behind only the US and Thailand).

Airline seat capacity from Germany increased by 6% in 2016, and is set to increase a further 10% in 2017. Furthermore, the CAD compares more favourably than the USD, making Canada a better value for money option.

German travellers tend to plan their trips well in advance, with 40% doing this more than 4 months prior to booking.
