Destination Canada is pleased to announce that Meaghan Ferrigno has added the title of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to her existing role as Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO).

Meaghan came to DC with an exceptional range of expertise – including Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Management Accountant designations, an MBA in Management Technology, a Risk & Project Management designation, plus years of previous experience in financial management.

Over the past two years with Destination Canada, Meaghan led DC’s data and research strategy to support industry recovery and maximize the future competitiveness and resilience of the Canadian tourism sector. She has built a dynamic team of insights and analytics professionals whose world-leading work on the Canadian Tourism Data Collective—a groundbreaking tourism data platform—is poised to redefine how demand and supply-side intelligence informs decision-makers. She also led the development of an innovative research program that opened new avenues for measuring the value of tourism and reaching our target guests.  More recently, she was a significant contributor to the oversight of our work with the OAG for the ongoing Special Examination and played a pivotal role in developing DC’s new 2030 Strategy.

As DC strives for success in a complex environment, Meaghan will provide valuable strategic expertise to manage our resources effectively in a fast-paced industry. Her new dual role leading DC’s Finance team as well as the Insights & Analytics team reflects the critical role of a modern CFO in leadership, operations, controls, and data-driven strategy.
